The core of TOC is the use of the Thinking Processes for deciding where to focus and for developing the answers to the key questions for systematic improvements: stating the problem, the solution, the implementation plan, and how to conduct POOGI. The Thinking Processes of TOC have great potential. There is no question about their power and the benefits they can bring. However, it is also known that the level of TP usage by the TOC community and the effectiveness of the use are relatively low.
Jelena has collected and developed the relevant knowledge and has put it in her books. She outlines in a very clear way what should be done and how it should be done, as well as examples of mistakes and things that should not be done. She makes no concessions. In order to get a quality TP work it is necessary to go through the processes and to exercise the necessary disciplines. It may feel tough – but the end result supports the approach.
This book is a very good textbook for TOC TP. It is an asset for every TOC practitioner. This book also contributes to the capturing of the TOC knowledge from its origins and can help the new generation of practitioners that want to disseminate TOC knowledge and know-how further on. Today, unlike in the past, there are very few programs for teaching TOC experts. There is a lot of relevant knowledge and experience that exists within the community, but most of it is not captured and may soon disappear.
